Welcome to Pacific Green. As environmental spokesperson I support the use of recycled palm trees in the construction of furniture and architectural building materials. Thanks for choosing Pacific Green. Enjoy, Pierce |

March/April 2008 http://www.houseandhome.ie/> "We love the Tavura Chair - This chair would work perfectly in my home office beside my vintage desk" Smart, unusual, colonial-syle furniture that is big on eco credentials as it is on style can be found at Galway's Urban Haven, a recent and welcome arrival to the Irish Furniture scene. Here you can find furniture by Australian manufacturer Pacific Green, who craft their products from Senile Fijian coconut palms that would otherwise be felled and burned to allow the growth of new crops. Though the palms can no longer produce coconuts, now every part of them is used to create beautiful furniture, and leftovers are sold as cheap, and renewable energy source. |

| March 2008 http://www.ihil.net The Luxor Vanity Chair from eco-friendly Irish company Urban Haven is a design statement in it's own right. Like all the pieces in the company's range, it's made out of Palmwood and the light wood is Siberian Larch from a sustainable and managed source. The leather is high quality Italian leather and is available in a range of up to 12 colours. |

April 2008 Meanwhile, on Ireland's west coast, Galway based Eileen Larkin of Urban Haven is doing her bit for the environment. She has introduced line of furniture made from Palmwood by Pacific Green. The collection is designed by Australian designer Bruce Dowse. After seeing first-hand the devastation logging causes the environment, Dowse introduced his "timber substitution theory" which meant saving the indigenous forest by using Palmwood instead. Palmwood is created from unwanted, eco sensitive 100-year-old coconut palms from the worlds remaining natural rainforests. "Using Palmwood instead of indigenous timbers causes no hurt. It helps preserve nature for our children", Dowse says. Each piece of furniture is handcrafted by indigenous artisans, and is all handmade - no glues or chemical are used. Stylewise, it rocks Fred and Wilma Flintstone chic: very 2008 |

| May 2008 http://www.ihil.net Green Living - The Tavarua lounge chair from Urban Haven is made of palmwood, a relatively new timber resource and an excellent substitute for hardwoods. Harvested from senile coconut trees which are felled once they stop producing their crop. This is a beautiful wood that will definitiely appeal to the eco-conscious shopper.
